WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE!! MATCH REPORT 21.5.08 by ROSS WILSON
Yet again another win for Windy Nook. What else could you ask for?............. a draw with the strongest team and a win against your rivals.
South Street 1 Windy Nook 1
A great game including both teams missing terrific chances.A game where Windy Nook dominated the first half, having many chances and swiping the post with a shot from Ross Wilson.Jonnie Bolam and Jay Kirtley staying strong at the back, it seemed impossible to score, but they did scoring a well worked goal. Then just before the end who else to score but Alexander Bainbridge with a beautiful lob over the keeper. Well it finished with a well deserved draw but to be fair we should have won.
Colegate 1 Windy Nook 2
Windy started off the better team with many chances with Colegate squeezing in 1 or 2. Then a shot from Ross Wilson ended up in the back of the net after two great Joseph Cranston performances lining up Ross to fire into the back of the net. Then minutes later Colegate pulled one back with a wonderful save by Lloyd Simpson before the rebound went past him. Then straight after, again, Alexander Bainbridge netted his second of the afternoon. Also putting in excellent performance were Harvey Simpson, Jack Parker, Daniel Laidler and Charlie Harrison. But overall a great team performance.
