Welcome to Beeches, the team who learn something new everyday!
Being part of year six means we take responsibility for key monitor roles around school. These include assembly monitors, door monitors and register monitors to name a few.
Our teacher is Mrs Hocking; she is also Deputy Head of our school. When she is out of class Mr Mason teaches us our Foundation Topics. So far we have learnt all about The Media. Watch this space for our final productions of Beeches magazines! Mrs Liddle, delivers RE to us on a weekly basis, we enjoy creating and learning alongside her.
During Spring Term our topic will be World War 2.
In literacy we will develop our writing skills through biographies, narratives, poetry, balanced arguments and formal writing. To help with these genres we endeavour to use ‘Premier League Writer’ and our ‘Target Cards’.
In our numeray lessons we enjoy having a good old dance to help us remember the different concepts and language. We are working on developing our calculation skills and our use of mental maths. Watch this space – we are getting quick and our ‘Target Cards’ are filling up!
Remember, to be part of the team you need your PE kit in school everyday and your swimming gear on a Friday.
Homework (because we are so dedicated!?) is issued on a Friday and returned the following Friday. Spellings are given on a Monday and tested on a Friday.
Our motto is:
Best out of all the rest;
Effort in everything we do;
Eager to do well;
Cool, groovy and a little bit different;
Happy, helpful team;
Energetic and enthusiastic;
Sensible and stylish.
We even have a song…watch this space for the link!
We look forward to reading your comments about our class page.
