Ladybirds At Home

Hope you are all having some fun in the snow. As you know our topic this half term is Growing and Changing and this week we are exploring Freezing and Thawing. Here are some questions to think about.

1.) Why is there lots of snow at the moment?
2.) Where does snow come from and what is it made of?
3.) Is the weather hot or cold?
4.) What will happen to the snow if the weather gets colder or warmer? What changes will
occur?
5.) How can we stay warm? What can we do to help us warm up?

Perhaps you could use your pink homework books to tell both your friends and I what fun you have had this snowy extended weekend?

You could do one or more of the following:

1. Draw a picture of a snowy activity you have carried out. (Sledging, building a snowman
or snowdog, having a snowball fight, walking in the snow etc.)
2. Label your picture with a few key words.
3. Write a couple of sentences about your snowy weekend.
4. Tell me what you have noticed about how the snow or ice has changed over the weekend.

There are also some weblinks on the attached sheet which feature useful ICT games for several areas of the curriculum including Mathematics, Literacy and Understanding the World.

Ladybirds Mathematics

In our lessons we often use a range of useful websites which contain Mathematics games and activities. Below is a list of websites that you and your child can access at home. Olympic Torch Relay

During our Key Stage Two assembly on Wednesday we had some visitors from Larkspur Primary School. They brought their Olympic torch and handed it over to our Sports Ambassadors. Their torch was brilliant. Our Olympic torch will be taken down to Colegate Primary School on Monday. A huge thankyou to Mrs Bulch and the Sports Ambassadors for making it.

Outside learning in the Robins

This week in the Robins we have been collecting data and looking at tally charts and pictograms. We have been looking at our favourite fruit and on Monday we went outside and we played the game of corners to sort ourselves into our favourite fruit. Today we made a class pictogram on the yard of our favourite fruit.

Science Day in LKS2

LKS2 had a fun filled science day with KS1.  Our day has been jam packed full of science exploration from making cakes to self inflating balloons.  Did anyone find out if gloop is a solid or a liquid?  Thank you to everyone involved who made it lots of fun.

World Book Day in Tulips

Well done Tulips! You all look really fab, top marks for all the effort. I wonder if anyone can guess what book characters you all are?

Spring Poems

In LKS2 we have been reading and writing spring poetry.  Here is a lovely site we found that contains lots of spring poems for you to read.  Watch this space as we will be publishing our own very soon.
