School Council Visit to the Civic Centre

DSC01260.JPG DSC01262.JPGOn Thursday 10th December our school council were lucky enough to be one of only a few school councils to be chosen to vist the Civic Centre to experience how our local council runs. On our arrival the children were given the opportunity to put forward several questions to local councillors. Following lunch we were able to visit the council chambers and experience how the voting system within the council works.

We were then invited to meet the mayor, Cllr Eagle, in his parlour. To complete our visit we were  invited to attend a real meeting of the council. The children had a fab time and hope to be able to use some of what they have learnt in their role as school councillors.
