On Friday 15th May the Year 5 children went to Gateshead Stadium to complete a half marathon. The children were put into teams of ten and took it in turns to walk, jog or run around the track!!!
Unfortunately at 10.45 the rain came down and we all got soaked. But By the end of the morning all the teams had completed a half marathon. Fun was had by all, even if we all were quite wet!!!!

the half marathon was cool! even if it rained! after 1 lap i was exhausted! i had to drink about 250ml of water after each lap! katie wilson

The Marathon was really fun!
We all got very wet, but we enjoyed ourselves.I ran 9 laps(3.6km)!
Everyone did well.Well done year 5!

it was so cool.I think eavrey one engoyed it in y5. I ca nt each school had to do 52 laps. it was a qurter of a mariton which i think mrs Pyrn said it was 13 miles.eavin Miss pryn and Mrs mack did it.

It's a pity that the weather was rotten for the half marathon, but, there's just no stopping our children!
