Harvest Time!
Forget 'Hammer Time' (ok so I'm old!) at Windy Nook it is 'Harvest Time'!
Last night our Busy Gardeners unearthed our first ever Windy Nook Spuds.
We uncovered the root and cut the leaves off to compost!
Then we dug out our little treasure, rinsed them and then stood proudly over them!
And we still had time to build a cane and net structure to protect our strawberries!

Aveda Invasion
On Wednesday June 20th Lisa White came to speak to pupils in year five and year six about the ways in which Aveda help the global environment.
We watched DVD's and heard about the many projects Aveda is involved with around the world, helping communities to support themselves. Those of us who answered questions correctly even got prizes!
Hair Raising Stuff!
Everyone got to try the products and we came away with not only new facts but an Aveda goody bag too!

Great Team Spirit
Eight year six girls braved the horrible weather today to represent our school in the Thomas Hepburn Cluster Girls 7 aside football tournament.
Using their unique Windy Nook brains, they made good use of the facilities to complete a thorough warm up!
As soon as the whistle went these 'gentle angels' turned into fierce competitors and did themselves proud with a display of great determination.
Clearly, the fact we are not publishing the scores suggests not everything went to plan! However anyone seeing them play could not help but be thrilled with their commitment.
Well done girls!
